Default EoFF RPG Thunderdome 2020 Round 4: Match 1

Round 4 is here and the first match begins. To make this interesting I'm basing categories on either the strength or weakness of the two contestants. I will usually pick the one that will make for the more interesting match, or if their weaknesses and strengths are matching. For Match 1, I went with weakness since both contestants were voted in the dame category.

Art Direction is the name of the game!

Wow. Harsh. I know you did this intentionally, but it's really hard to choose between two games that just aren't that notable in this category. I'm kind of leaning FFT because I think it's a little more original, but then again it's still pretty generic and I could just as easily go with So no Kiseki for having noses.

I don't know. It's really a tossup for me, so I might wait around and see other opinions to see if I find something compelling enough to decide one way or the other.

lol FFT’s art direction is actually pretty spectacular though? It’s got an incredibly distinct style and while it’s more muted than Yoshida’s other work, his style is still felt here and really enhances the experience. There’s a reason why Akihiko Yoshida is basically what I think of when I’m looking for the most inspired medieval fantasy look. Sorry Ao no Kiseki. You may be a great game, but you look basic.

How mean, art direction isn't even FFT's real weakness

I think it's funny that Fynn is scoffing at art direction being considered FFT's weakness now when he was one of the people who chose that (granted he said he was stretching it even when he chose it but still). I still can't in good conscience choose. I know if I pick FFT in this category it's because I want to choose FFT and not because I have any conviction that the art direction is better. Plus, FFT's gonna win anyway, so why bother.
