    Default Monster Hunter Rise

I've been mainlining MH Rise right into my smurfing eyeballs ever since it came out.

Any Monster Hunter fans here? What was your first? What's your fave? What weapons you using?

I started with MH4U way back when; bought it alongside a new 3DS whilst on holiday in Hong Kong. I initially started playing with the Bow, hated it, and stopped playing, but I later returned out of boredom and started with the Insect Glaive and loved it.

Went into MHGU and mained the Aerial SwagAxe and Valor LS, but skipped World.

Rise was my glorious return and, despite it's shallowness, it is probably the most fun I've had to date. Mained the Hunting Horn through the Village quests, then been trying out SnS and LBG in the Hub.

    WHERE MUH HUNTERS AT?

I played World for a bit but haven't given Rise a try yet. I've been stuff on Pokemon snap and now Mass Effect Legendary. I will get to Rise EVENTUALLY

I haven't played any Monster Hunter games before, but what I've seen of Rise has me intrigued. Does it work as an entry-point for someone new to the franchise, or is it a "it will make more sense if you play X first" situation?

It's probably the best entry point I've seen. It's honestly easier than the other games, which some purists get mad about, but it's so much damn fun. Every MH game lives in its own world, basically, so you never need to play any for the story.

So I played the demo and i think I need an actual controller for my switch. I found it hard with the motes even in the controller thingy. So I'm going to wait and get myself a controller before I pull the trigger on the game. But the demo was fun! Very much like World, which is the one I've played so I'm okay with it.

Yeah, I think I would probably find it a bit rough on the block side thingy controller. I got myself a Pro ages ago, and it's my default for everything.
