    Default Super Mario movie

I have not gone to a movie theater with the kids since pre-pandemic (and only once with Miriel since). But if there was one family movie I was going to shell the dollars over, it had to be this.

I really liked it. It was a fun and cute movie with lots of old Nintendo references. It did not try to overdo the explanation and plot which some critics did not like but I appreciated that they kept it focused on the fun. That is exactly what the games are about. I fell like it really captured the spirit of the Mario games.

    Anyone else see this?

Not yet, but it looks like I'll be seeing it twice at least since I have different social groups wanting to go see it.

Yes, and I enjoyed it. Worth every cent and brought out the spirit of the game compared to the one done in the 90s.

Yeah, I finally saw this and it was a pretty fun film. Very enjoyable. Now where is my Zelda movie?

Where is my Dynasty Warriors movie? Ah, wait, they made that and it was bad.

Well, where is my Sleeping Dogs movie?

Haven't seen it yet. I'm waiting until I can watch it at home! It looks nice, though. I heard there's a Charles Martinet cameo towards the beginning, and that he did the cameo in all the different dubs of the movie.

There is a cameo, and lots of easter egg references throughout. Fun for any fan and maybe at the expense of the story, but who cares. No one plays Mario for its deep story; it's for the fun and engagement which this movie brought to life.

I watched it, and I enjoyed it. My only real disappointment is that it doesn't end with "Do The Mario" playing during the credits...

And yeah, speaking as somebody who has thought about writing movies based on video games (and is writing a fanseries based on something that started out as a video game) from a more storyline driven angle... I like that they just focused on the fun side of the games, like it's a movie based on a fun video game series, that doesn't take itself too seriously, which is all it needs to be, if that's what they writers wanted it to be.
