It's the novelization of the cancelled final DLC for FFXV. It gives an alternate ending to the main story as well.

I for one am very happy it didn’t make it in. Way to completely misunderstand the themes of the main game! If there’s one game in the series that really suffered due to executive stuff, it’s XV
