The chemistry between Yuna and Tidus just isn't that great. It felt like they were just stuck together for the sake of sticking the two main characters together.

Despite all the things that were long and tedious about FFX, it's still my favorite so far.

Oh, and something else that irritated me greatly that I forgot to mention- Kimahri's battle with the two other Ronso. UGH. I suppose the creators knew how little people would use him in the game, and threw this in as a last-ditch effort to power him up.
