Ulead GIF Animator 5 is also a nice little GIF editting program(that's how I got Link centered and got him walking faster than normal). It's very easy to use. Sadly I don't have Fireworks.

I personally don't see anything wrong with the way the boards are currently set up. And larger avatars? You should consider yourself lucky that you have avatars, I've seen message boards 3 times the size of this one where you can't have an avatar, let alone your own signature.

I think No.2 would be a good idea, the old 'cloud' was a terrible poster... pretty much like the new 'Cloud' =/

Yeah this isn't that much of an efficient post and Man, you probably didn't even want this, but here is that rabite image down to 60x60 pixels, but my guess is you only like it big.
