I just wanted to point out that, in case you wanted to make spoiler text COMPLETELY invisible, you can do it by using the following mechanism for the spoiler tag:

<B><I>(SPOILER)</I></B> <font color=00243A style="background-color:00243A;">{param}</font>

<B><I>(SPOILER)</I></B> <font color=#00243A style=background-color:#00243A;>{param}</font>

If you want to alter the tag, feel free to do so. If not, just ignore me.

An Observation:

When I started using Opera, I were no longer able to highlight text in such a manner that I could read it. Have to Copy/paste and stuff, but that's not bad.

That too for me, its highlight algorithm is sucky compared to Microsofts, but I still prefer Opera over IE

(blarg) You're right, but remove the quotes and add a # sign before the HTML and then it does work in Opera. Go figure. I hadn't had time to check it in Opera before I wrote the original post, but I've edited it now.

I, personally, like to have the background the exact same colour as the spoiler text, because it's more "perfect" and there's no chance of tempting people like me to try to read the text without even bothering to highlight it, but whatever.

It's true. I've experimented with vBulletin templates all over the place on my board, though, and it appears that trying to use calls to functions in the middle of tags doesn't work. Hell, they don't even seem to work in posts - I tried typing $post[backcolor] which is supposed to give the background colour of the post, and it just writes $post[backcolor] where it's supposed to say the number.

I might ask Tau someday how he would do it when he's not swamped. I'm sure there's a way; I just have no clue what it is. I'll get back to you if ever I find out. Yeah, it looks blotchy the way I did it, but I kinda prefer having blotchiness to having slightly visible text. That's probably just me though.

You could just make a completely black background that you need to highlight over to see. I mean, if you're going to go blotchy, at least go all out!

It's even more obvious with the blotchiness, mind you. *nods* More obvious = more tempting.

I don't care if things get spoiled for me, for the most part. When you're a mod, you have to check that kinda stuff sometimes anyways. *has closed many threads about games he hasn't played*
