LightWave Problems

<font color="aacfff" size=1> I recently got LightWave and have started attempting online tutorials and such. I'm a complete newbie to it, but I'm determined. Unfortunately, I can't do much because I can't see text in text boxes unless I highlight it, as shown in the example below. Is there any way to change that? I tried changing my windows theme and theme colors, but that didn't change anything. Any help is appriciated. Thanks.
