NNNesterJ is what I use, because the color pallete is the most accurate as far as I can tell. Computers are fast enough now that Windows emulators can run NES emulators way, way faster than they need to. I think the only reason Nesticle was so popular for so long was because it was DOS-based and didn't use a ton of resources, and that it had pretty good feature support. But Nesticle's sound / music are not at all accurate in many cases, and some graphics are still messed up in Nesticle. I base most of my opinions on FF1, since that's the game I played most, but anyways.
