Alright, just try to tell me that you wouldn't literally have the $hit scared out of you if you were to be face-to-face with a gigantic lightsaber. Either way, you're screwed. Yeah, you might take a crack at his johnson, but what about when the lightsaber-of-ultimate-doom comes back down from him falling over? You might have a chance of surviving if you can run reeeeally fast. Be that as it may, there's one practical issue to consider with Blasting Zone. While Squall's executing it, he stands there with his arms in the air doing the whole 'By the Power of Greyskull!' thing for about thirty seconds.
His hands are way up above him.
His groin is completely exposed.
Any opponent with half a brain (Seifer doesn't qualify) would take this priceless opportunity to wallop Squall in the goody-bag, leaving him unconscious and whimpering for hours...
Kuja Highwind/Blackmage: Some guy that used to be active back around 2001... He almost made his way through Proto's Custom Title Tournament way back in the day...but almost only counts in horseshoes and grenades. Oh well.
Or you could just deftly sidestep, and watch as Squall's plummeting 'lightsaber' cuts a thousand-mile-long swath across the face of the planet. Then, Squall's 'Blasting Zone' power is expended, and he's lying on the (scorched) ground in agony. Easy pickings.
The rough divide has a shoryuken type of approach to it that I love so much.
Fated Circle and Lionheart are equally cool.

blasting zone, for visuals. Lionheart maybe better in terms of damage, but I always thought that it was a rip off of cloud's ultimate, whatever it was called (i forget everything...i suck)
Maybe Squall should've took a lesson from Zell and jump in the air while doing Blasting Zone.
But Rough Divide. Yes. I wouldn't like being enveloped by waves of fire and have Squall slash me in half at the same time.
