Use a PS1 memory card. (saves only take 1 block.)

But will the ps1 card work on the ps2??? isn't it incompatible?

ps1 games require ps1 memory cards; ps2 games require ps2 memory cards

ps2 memory cards aren't backwards compatiable; while the ps2 itself is

PS1 memory cards, though, can be found rather cheap

Which Final Fantasy One Enemy am I?

You Are CHAOS; You are the supreme evil reigning in the land. You are large, in charge, and made all-powerful through a very confusing time-loop thing. Hidden in the past, you destroy the future from within, and a single battle with you could determine the fate of the planet...

I don't think its a scam to make moeny with the memory card thing, the newer games just need more space. if you do the math a PS1 card only holds 128KB on it while the PS2 card holds 8mbs ( 8,000 KB ). Its not a scam at all. But it would be nice if the PS1 games could save to the PS2 memory card.

Sadly, there is still some element of scam in it.... Many companies don't optimize memory card save state space. Why? Because they can. While I personally haven't run into this problem, I don't have tht many PS2 games.

Games today are majorly changing also. Look at some of todays games, they need like 64mb DDR video cards to run well. that dark ages of camelot PC game needs a 1.4 ghz processor to run. Games are changing and at a rapid pace. Its the same with consoles sort of. It would be nice if the companies could down size on the save state space for some games but i haven't ran into a problem with not enough space left. if your concerned about space go and get an X-Box it has its own 8 GB hard drive.

Actually, PS2 memory cards can hold PS1 save data, they just can't be used by PS1 games, try copying info from a PS1 memory card onto a PS2 memory card, then whenever you want to use the data, just put it back onto a PS1 memory card.

I do it all the time, it's mega-nifty.

Just another useful hint, don't get an X-Box.

That isn't true, PSone Memory Cards hold 1 MB. But it's still 8 times less than a PS2 Memory Card.
