    Can someboyd please tell me who to format a hardrive on a Windows XP pro system?

    FAT32 or NTFS, up to you. I'd probably go for NTFS due to it being more tolerant to crashes and has better security (despite it being slightly slower than FAT32), unless you have another OS on the PC like Win98 or possibly Linux, in which case FAT32 would be better if you also want the other OS to be able to use the drive.

    Did you mean "how" instead of "who"? The Windows XP install disc will give you an option at the beginning to format the HD into FAT32 or NTFS or whatever you want. If you want to do it yourself, boot to DOS and type format c:, or use fdisk first if you have to get rid of / create partitions first / instead.
