It's a simple question.
"RID-EE-AH" for me.
Well I at first thought "RIE-DAH" (Like rider) but Being an idiot I didn't notice to later there was an "I" so
"RIH-DEE-AH
But I still Say "Rie-da" cause I'm used to it!
RIH dee uh
Knock yourselves down.
Rye - dee - ah
Good question. I had actually always pronounced it REE-dee-uh (accent on the first syllable).
I think it's pronounced "RID-DEE-AH." Like the name "Lydia." When I was little, I used to pronounce it "REE-DAH," then later on, I pronounced it, "RYE-DAH" then "RYE-DEE-AH."
I was so silly when I was little.:rolleyes2
I always pronounced it RYE-dee-uh. I dunno if that's correct or not.

One should know real emptiness as the state where there is no obscurity and the clouds of confusion have cleared away-Miyamoto Musashi
[q=Psychotic]Rye - dee - ah[/q]
Likely Rydia was a mistranslation of Lydia.
Aren't 'Rydia' and 'Lydia' more or less the same in Japanese?Originally posted by Dr Unne

Exactly the same in Japanese, since they have one sound that's somewhere halfway between R and L and that's it. Translate Englsih to Japanese and back to English and you don't have good odds of getting the same word back out. Assuming the Japanese borrowed the word Lydia and the translators borrowed it back.
RID-EE-AH for me too. I always pronounced it that way, because my cousin is good at getting name pronunciations right.
