Final Fantasy VI... Its FAR superior to Final Fantasy VII. Better story, better characters, and a better mood alltogether.

    VI > VII

I find your use of smilies disturbing, yet somewhat erotic.

A tough decision between Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy VII for me. I find them both really awesome games, and both Final Fantasy IX and Chrono Trigger are very close to them as well. Oh, and Final Fantasy VII >>>>>>> Final Fantasy VI, which is becoming my least favorite FF at the moment. I think FF7's story, characters, mood and especially battle system bring FF6 to dust.

I can see why some like FFVI's system more than FFVII's and vice-versa. It's all what we like. *nods* [/random comment]

Meh. It's all about character development with FFVI. That's what makes it so great. There are a WHOLE LOT of characters, yet you think that every single one of them is the main character. Pure Square goodness.

Eh, I don't agree on this point. I don't think that Relm or Strago could fairly be called main characters. You can even skip getting (SPOILER)Mog and Shadow.

Well, not EVERY character, but the following characters in the game all had very important parts, and could all be considered the main character:

    Terra
    Celes
    Edgar
    Sabin
    Locke

That's enough to say "Great Character Development," unlike FFVIII, where Irvine said three things in the whole game. Of course, that's a good thing, because I'd rather for him to shut his trap.

I voted for Kingdom Hearts, though it was hard deciding between that an Final Fantasy IX.

I would have to say Chrono Trigger, by far in my opinion. The combination moves were a great addition to it. The different combinations made combat not repetitive. Plus the different times made it much more vast. And the characters in it were great.

there is no such thing as "the best Square-Enix game". it's all good. except that damn Unlimited Saga. That just sucks.

I'd have to pick Final Fantasy VI. Best game ever. Period. In my opinion, it had the greatest storyline, greatest characters, was non-linear, had lots of side quests, lots of mystery, the main villain actually succeeded in destroying the world, millions of things to do, great graphics/sound for it's time, and best of all it's 2-D! *has a thing for 2D games*

Coming in close would have to be the following:

Rudra No Hihou, Final Fantasy IV, and Final Fantasy I.
