Personally i think the best 2 usable ones are the Buster Sword and the Murasame, both for strictly looks.
i mean, come on, a sword that's more axe than sword, and a clone of Sephiroth's (SPOILER) for a clone of Sephiroth. I wish the Ultima weapon looked more like either of those, instead of that big blue goofy Wedge of Death.

Mop? ...Kind of like being flicked with a wet towel, I'd imagine.
Yuffie's pinwheel and Aeris' Umbrella look innocently novel; the Nail Bat makes Cloud look like a thug (not necessarily a bad thing).

Vincent's Shotgun is a nasty piece of work.

Yuffie's weapons usually look pretty interesting - the Conformer, Oritsuru, Twin Viper and others.

Cid's Venus Gospel has a beautifully designed blade. Huge, but shiny and ornate.

Somewhat like the Ultima Weapon. I like the way its blade becomes a duller shade of blue as the Cloud's HP - and the weapon's strength - become lower.
The Buster Sword, however, has simple functionality in its favour. It's a solid, dependable, in-your-face design which looks like it means business.

Dang, but there are so many interesting weapons in FFVII, hardly any which DON'T stand out in some way.

I always thought the Force Stealer was a dark shade of purple and not black.

my favourite weapon was the mop. not only was it a funny weapon.
it had ok attack percentage.

2.) nail bat
3.) parasol
4.) superball
5.) origami <- pretty cool

I like the nail bat too because it makes cloud look bad@$$.

i love all of the weapons that are jagged and look like they had no chance of making a clean swipe like the one i was talking about (still trying to figure out what that sword was), if you see any of those, i would probibly like them.

p.s. i never saw the nail bat (this is my first time going through the game) was it like all of the nails going in all different directions or all of them going straight out (i would like it either way but it would be cool if they went all in different directions)

if i remember clearly, it only had one nail. it is like an alluminum bat with one nail at the end. colud be wrong thou. i never used it much.

The Nail bat is studded with a good many nails, if I remember rightly. Particularly brutal weapon. Strange that it's found in (SPOILER)the Temple of the Ancients, since the Ancients were meant to be all spiritual and enlightened and whatnot.

Personally I think it's slightly stranger that they confused the word's 'temple' with 'maze', 'hall' with 'clock'and 'exit' with 'giant monster'.

Am I imagining it or did Barret get an 'Evil Dead' style chainsaw, if so that'd be cool. If not why dammit???

He did. It's imaginatively called "Chainsaw". He's also got a power-drill, cannon ball and a basic boxing-glove, the Rocket Punch.
