Why do we allow threads in general chat (or anywhere) that discuss the heavy usage of illegal drugs. I really don't think it is even the least bit appropriate to have threads discussing how to increase your serotonin to counteract your ecstacy tolerance and whatnot.
I'm pretty sure I closed one drug thread recently, I guess that one passed by me somehow though.
No, I don't think these threads should be allowed, much as porn isn't allowed here either - if anything drugs are worse since they can kill whereas porn can't (or shouldn't anyway)

yes exactly. i don't really care about "haha I'm drunk" but discussing the use of ecstacy (MDMA), cocaine, heroin, marijuana, etc is not really appropriate here at all.
Jokes involving the relation of PCP to both Joe Clark and angel dust are acceptible though.

yes I know and yes I do use the warn button. it didn't bother so much then as it does now, and that thread has sunked into genchat obscurity, but I just wanted to say in here for future reference that I think staff should catch these things and close them.

I've also got problems with people joking about commiting acts of rape and paedophilia.
I'm pretty keen on the 'warn' button, but some people have to be told what is or isn't acceptable before they begin to learn.
I know joking around rape, etc isn't very nice ( excluding ghostrape, of course), but we do it sometimes between the friends.
However, there's people joking about death all the time ( and many similar things) and they seem to be ok. Why would joking about death be any better than joking about paedophilia or rape?
I don't really care, though. I haven't seen anything in this Forums in 2 and a half years that would've disturbed me, or to make use the warn button.

Well some of us arent bothered by things like rape, sexual perversions, and death when it's used in a joking manner. Or even in a serious manner for that matter, like someone discussing a not-so-happy event in their life.
The drug thing bothers me as well, when they're serious threads like the ones eestlinc pointed out. It's almost like, by having them up, the boards and the people on them as a whole, are encouraging things like that. If... that makes any sense to you guys.
That's what the warn button is for. You hit the warn button, a mod will tell discipline them appropriately. The thing is, we can't check every single thread - so if it happens that we pass one by, we DO have at least three or four mods checking Reported Posts consistently, so there you go.Originally posted by Big D

I hadn't read that thread 'cause I thought it was about suppliments for non-illegal/dumb purposes, otherwise I would've closed it. Sorry. Feel free to report threads like that in the future.
And, yes, certain things are offensive to some people, but everything offends someone so sometimes you just gotta suck it up and get over it.
