Greens. It's all about the Greens.
Feed your chocobos heaps of veges, and breed the best ones.
A second- or third-generation gold chocobo with strong parents is a surefire winner.
That's it? Well, I've fed all my chocobos to the max. Hmmm... oh well. I guess there's not much to it...
Try racing them 'till they're class S before you breed them, too.
And make sure they're the greens you buy from (SPOILER)the crazy chocobo guy in the hills and not the stuff they sell at the ranch.
Sorry to tell you this but i keep track when i made my gold chocobo. it cost me over 3,000,000 gil and took me a weak to do! But if you can find all the little places that only the gold Chocobo can enter it's worth your time

a gold chocobo is easy as hell to get. The simplest way is to get a w-item materia and duplicate the sylkis greens. Or you can just go spend millions on them. The only chocobo I had trouble lvling up to S class, was the Good Regular chocobo.
when you beat ruby weapon you get a gold chocobo as a reward i dont know how good it is but its worth a try
All I know is that the chocobo I got from Ruby was very inferior to the ones in my stable. But I was pretty far along in the breeding by then.
the fastest i have is a green one(albino from a long pine of golds)
i try and i try but can't seem to get past 255 for speed,i gyess this is the limit.
a friend of mine has a yellow chocobo that does whatever a gold can do.
i just tell him it's because the disc is so scratched it glitches.

Well, anyways, Hydan, 255 is like the magic number for final fantasies. That's the limit the stats go up to in most final fantasies. And even chances in stealing is somewhat based on 255. (ex. chance of stealing "potion" is 255/256)
Well, can anyone tell the steps to get the chocobos to spped 255? That's what I need (not lecture on greens, and w-item stuff)

So, if you have gold chocobo, do you already have max of 255 speed? (too lazy to turn on my ps2 to check...)
no it could be really bad. the only difference is that it can go anywhere and its a hulluva lot harder to get
