Thread: Welcome forum?

  1. #1

    Default Welcome forum?

I think there should be a forum strictly for the welcoming of new users, and possibly goodbye posts for people who are leaving. Good idea?

EDIT: I mean that the forum would support both kinds of posts.

Newbie threads are alright in the General Chat forum. It's just the goodbye threads that are not acceptable.

Apparently, I have been declared banished.

I think this has been discussed a few times before. Welcome Forums would just end up having the same people posting in them all the time or no one. In General Chat or Eyes on Each Other they get noticed. Usually there aren't really all that many of them, but summertime does get busier.

Goodbye threads are just useless because the person usually ends up coming back before two weeks are up. The forums would also be overtaken with threads by people saying that they will be away for the weekend or something, and we do have a thread set up for that.
