I just said somewhere else that the only problem you'll get is that ATi doesn't have as much Palettized Texture support as, say, a Voodoo 2. I hope that's still true.

Yeah it's true, i have an ati radeon 9700pro and it does not support 8bit paletted textures, so you would have to run ff7 in "Software Rendering" mode, and that means you wont be getting high frame rates (depends on your cpu) and bilinear filtering on textures (antialiased textures).
with ff8pc is another different story, cause even my card does not suppor 8bitpaletted textures, i can play it in the "hardware rendering" mode. Hope the info helps.
