Just a little message from the WLA before this forum gets deleted.

In all our history we have been proud patriots, Windurst Forever, all that jazz. In time and practiced example, however, very little has been done on our part for the actual benefit of our beloved nation. This is not to say that we never intended to, just that due to circumstance, timing, whatnot, when we actually got things done to this end it was few and far between sort of deal.

I have been shell holder and caretaker of the WLA since shortly after launch, building a network of comraderie and general knowledge within our LS. The idea was to have a finely tuned group of wonderful people and great gamers to hang and chat with until such day that our leader and founder, Grandlethal, arrived into the game in March. Mission accomplished, that went great, and never in all our time, regardless of how long or how short a member stayed with us, have we had a "bad apple".

In light of these two statements I have made above, I would like to be the first to annouce formally that there will be a redistribution very soon. It is time to get the shell into our esteemed leader's hands. No definitive date has been set for this switch, however along with it will come a significant change, which is entire purpose of this post:

It has been discussed in private between GL, Keyrana, and myself, and then discussed openly amongst members, and the concencus is in. At the time of transfer we will become a multi-national Linkshell. Please bear in mind that the decision has been mulled over for at least 8 months now and it has finally been made, so no arguments or objections, please, they will fall on deaf ears. We had a 95% majority on this one between all our active members.

Alot to take in, for sure, but here is what we are asking of all WLA members, currently active as well as otherwise: Discussion of the new colour and name of the LS is now open. Final decisions will be made by GL, Key, and myself, but as always our member's opinions count in all our affairs. If you are, or have been a member of the Windurst Liberation Army at any time previously, please stand up, be counted, and be proud. Log back into the LS and participate in our re-structuring. (Posts made here, sadly, will not count. Far too few of our members actually use these forums. Get your pearl on and come on over!).

Know that as the switch is in actual progress I personally remain on the original WLA Linkshell for as long as needed, be it a week or a month, in order to make sure that redistribution is done fully and swiftly.

I'd also like to add that we're looking for a new name, as well as a new color to reflect the change. I'd like to Poll everyone on this, but I don't feel like setting one up :P
So please feel free to post your thoughts here, or send me a PM. I am planning to buy the Linkshell In the next week or so, and would like to have it set up and start distribution over the next few weeks.

The concept behind this that its an 'Adventurers Guild', I want us to start going out of our way to try new things and help each other, and most importantly, find new and exciting things to do I would like the name to reflect that, and our general attitude. I'd like to think the WLA has been a happy, feel-good kinda LS, and would like to carry that feeling into the new one.

We will also be assigning some new Sack Holders, we've discussed who these people will be, so we'll set you up when you get your pearls

That was actually handed around for a bit and, honestly, it's one of the better suggestions we've had so far. Better than such joke entries recieved, such as "Bob" and "Windypwnsallkthxbye".

Just a point to elaborate slightly, we are staunchly against the use of "leetspeak" in our new title, as well as the display of pink or other irritating neon colours :P

We're getting a decided lack of input from this post, which undoubtably is due to the lack of Midgardsormr players from the WLA on these forums. Here's a couple of suggestions of my own. I didn't actually want to throw my word in, as I have the inkling that alot of our members would jump at it and not come up with their own, but hey, someone's gotta get the ball rolling a bit faster.

Horizon - What is just beyond reach or touch, a reflection of GL's desire to make this an adventuring/exploring LS. Appropriate colours could include Sky Blue (suggested by Northstar), or perhaps a Golden/Orange you might see during a sunrise.

Critical Mass - When a idea or an object exists to a point where improvement or expansion becomes difficult to the point of near impossibility, thereby inducing a state perpetual stagnance. I know, it doesn't sound pretty when explpained as such, but think of it as our LS has reached this state, it can't get any better as it is without taking it back to formula and rebuilding upon a new concept. For the life of me I cannot think of an appropriate colour aside from plain old boring Black. Over half my clothes are black, my PC is black, I love black, it's comfortable... But I don't want to be one of these "I'm-so-cool-look-at-my-badass-black-linkshell-gothic-ffxi-fanboy", you know? You see enough of those. I'd rather have something original and, well, appealing

I like Horizon, but I'm thinking of expanding it to something like Endless Horizons, LastHorizon, LostHorizon, ForgotenHorizons or something like that.

PurpleDots is funny, but doesn't convey what I want. I'm not so sure about Critical Mass.. its the name of a big Web D company out here that I hate because they wouldn't give me a job :P

I do like the EndlessAdventures idea, as well. It has that sort of feeling of entirety that a manuever like this entails. Need to pick a couple of definitives and poll the LS in-game, that will be the best way to get the most input after we've discussed this here.

I will be in Ottawa as well.... 'cause I live next door to it. May not be around every moment to hand pearls out . The switch was really quick, though, and there are only a couple of our current members that haven't got in yet. For the record, our old rules still stand as valid: Clean language on LS chat, respect your fellow players (even if someone is being an ass, let someone else put them in their place... Sooner or later these retards single themselves out, so don't do anything to look similar in the process ), try to spend a decent amount of time with us between your other LSs, help your fellow members if you have a spare moment (don't come running everytime if you don't want to, but lend a hand if you can sort of thing).

We are multi-nation now, just to re-iterate that, so if you're not from Windurst it's all good, and if you or your friends can live with these simple rules, proper conduct and common sense, really, then you're more than welcome to request a pearl from us

{Hmmm.} I would join up with you guys on Midgar, but I'm on Shiva. I would make another char on Midgar, but I can't remember if you can have characters on different servers, without buying the game twice. But if i find a way to make it happen, I'll hook up shortly. I will say this much, I will spend most of my time on Shiva, but I'll make a concerted effort to get on Midgar as much as possible. If I do make this move, I'll be a Taru Whm, just so I can raise and tele and pl people. Much fun.
