?--Aeris or Aerith--?

Ever since kingdom hearts changed aeris's name to aerith I've noticed that people have called her by either name. I've heard people call her aerith instead of aeris or vise versa (if you like saying aerith better). To me it doesn't matter I suppose. I call her aeris, but I will say aerith once in a while. I'm curious what you guys think on this subject. And if I confused you with all this aeris--aerith nonsense...well...sorry...

Since Square went and officially contradicted themselves, either name is correct. I prefer Aeris.

I always say Aeris. It's much nicer than Aerith (sorry all Aerith-saying people out there).

Uh, no. They didn't contradict themselves, they corrected SCEA's most important translation error. Even if they'd just bothered to look at Square Japan's site at the time, they'd have known the official (read: proper) translation was Aerith, but they screwed it up at the last minute for some reason.

Hear hear. I try to call most of the characters in every FF game by the original Japanese name. I usually use Aerith, though around here it's either or for me. I try and use the English names when I'm talking to other people (ie: Terra instead of the original Tina, etc)

Yes, that still sucks... I think it should be Seraph Sephiroth (ya know, the seraphim, the angel?)

And I usually say Aeris, just because the European version has the flower-lady called that way.

Uh, they removed one "t" from Barret and nobody's ever conclusively proven that it's not supposed to be "Safer" (in fact I've seen some good points of evidence in the past that backs up the translation quite well).

Respectively, they're supposed to be Bullet and Sepher Sephiroth. But really, this is all besides the point.
