    Default sound volume? help!

please help me... whenever I play videos in my PC I can't get the volume as loud as the last time. I know the full potential of my speakers before I reformat my PC. B4 I was using ME and the sound is good, and loud, now after reformat to XP volume at max is only half on my past ME.

Can I still fix the volume? Do I need to download something?

Double click the sound icon in the tooltray and put Wave Output to max - that's usually halfway down on a clean Windows install

If that doesn't work, you might have to re-encode the video clips to a higher volume....this *typically* only works for avi and (not often possible but *is*) asf files.

    For mpgs....I think you're screwed ^^

No problem in my vidoes, since the last time I played them they're ok. The problem comes after I've reformat my PC!
