By the way, there's a Swedish "ambient" band/musician that goes under the name "Sephiroth". Yes, I'm aware that it's not an original name from the game but most people probably connect it to the game character anyway.

Behemoth is from Christian mythology, Tiamat is from Babylonian mythology, and Ragnarök is from Norse mythology. Incidentally.
what do behemoth and tiamat mean. i know that ragnarok is the fall of the gods. but i cant find anything on the other 2.

most names from final fantasy games are based in mythologyor other sources. Square has rarely made up names for their games.
That is part of the reason why I like their games so much. They didn't just throw in some random crap and call it an RPG. They knew what they were doing when they chose the names.Originally posted by darc
