I'd get the latest version of DirectX anyway (9.0b) - there's a critical bug found in it a day or two ago in all versions up to 9.0a, so you may as well take the chance to upgrade to the latest version your OS supports (if not 9.0b, get the seperate patchs too for your relevant DX and OS version )
