What's effective against Dark Flan?

Does anyone know if there is any magic/ attack that works well on the Dark Flan in Gagazet Caves/Zanarkand?

I have tried attacks and various magic but most stuff just does about 200-400hp of damage. Lulu's Flare does about 900 which isn't bad and Yuna's Holy does about 2000 but she soon runs out of MP to use it too much.
And then he does that damn annoying White Wind and heals himself again...

It's just the time the fight takes, I find myself fleeing from him now just cos the fight annoys me.. but is there anything else that works well or is Holy the best thing?(despite it's high MP cost).

Easiest way to kill the dark flan is to use Auron's Zombie attack, and follow it up by either using a phoenix down on it or by casting life.

Don't forget to use Elixers and Megelixers to!.

I didn't even realise the Dark Flan was a zombie type...thanks for the tips.

It's only a Zombie type if you use Auron's Zombie attack on it. Otherwise it's just a big pile of goo with a lot of defense.

Oh.. I looked at the game and realised I don't have Auron's zombie attack yet, cos I didn't have any L3 key spheres at the time I was near it. So that's why I didn't know what it did, I thought that "Zombie attack" just attacked zombies and therefore, Dark Flan must be a zombie... anyway hope that made sense
