Here's a great link on EOFF that shows how to get all of the classes:http://www.eyesonff.com/fft/classes.shtml

A sprite is an image, usually a character. For an easy explaination: old Nintendo games are made with two different layers. There is the background layer, then there is the sprite, or character layer. This is how a character walks in a NES game, when you press the controller to move the character up, the game actually move the background down. Anyway, the characters were placed on the top layer, or the sprite layer. Thus characters are reffered to as sprites.
