Gotta go with FF8, it's the most intense opening ever and one of the best if not THE best opening.

Although it is probably my least favourite Final Fantasy to actually play, I have to say FFVIII too.
My friend's brother has like a massive speaker system and widescreen TV, and we played the intro to FFVIII really loud. Because of the huge speakers the floor was vibrating to the sound of "Liberi Fatali". It was *very* cool
Plus apart from having a v.cool song in, the whole Squall and Seifer fight is cool, it gets you interested in the game, although I don't like the sight of blood..and the bit with Rinoa and Squall is a nice romantic touch at the end of the intro too. FFVII's intro was alright, but FFVIII was definately the most dramatic, and best, IMO.
i was agoing to say VII but i just remebered the beging for VIII so know i think it is the best
