Levels! I need levels!

So how much time does it take to get levels/more power in FFXI? Compared to Everquest and Diablo II?

Depends, at lvl 1-10 its pretty easy soloing and usually an hour or 2 at lvl 5 and up to lvl up. But later on its harder and can take up to 4 hours to lvl up say i am at lvl 21 it would take that long. If you die u can lose up to half an hour of lvling to one full hour. Higher lvl and dead= more exp lost.

If you fight incredibly tough monsters with a party u can gain very fast abit having to sit. (really depends)
