Crack-Down on Rudness?

I have notice a few mods latly who have been cracking down on people who say somthing rude.....

NOT JUST ON ME....But on other people too....

I mean I can see if the person is just being a "Prick" or somthing.... but if it is not a regular thing for them......

If the rudness contains no swears or Explicit subject then cant we be reasonable......

If every time someone calls someone "dumb" or somthing to that effect the mods have to respond isnt it getting too strict......

We dont have a rule anywhere that I have seen that says "you are never aloud to express yourself through rudness"

just my concerns over freedom of speech.....

Freedom of speech? There is no freedom of speech. EoFF is not owned by the American government. It's like a private house, and the staff has the right to kick people out of it for any reason or none at all. It's like a person's private residence: If you can't follow the rules, you get shown the door.

At EoFF, the basic rule is that if you can't play nice, you won't be playing at all.

i understand that but theres no rule that says that since Loony BoB implied i was dumb that he should get a warning or banned or anything....

it just seems too strict in some instances....

its not really about freedom of speech.... i just thought that would get someones attention....

I wasn't implying you were dumb. You can follow the rules. If you couldn't, you'd most likely be banned.

There's a difference between being seriously rude and joking around. Of course, it's also the staff's decision to find out whether or not someone was joking or not if they were to say something like, "omg, i h8 u all." or " YOU LOSERS." Usually, it depends on the situation at the time, if the posters know each other pretty well, it's a given that the "rudeness" was part of the joke.

I can't speak for everyone else, but I know when I give a warning or something for a rude comment its because the person on the recieving end of the comment complained about it, and even then I regularly tell them that I'm not their mommy and they should try to deal with it themselves.

And I don't think that staff members telling someone its not okay to be rude is being strict; its not like people are getting banned for it.

Also, for the most part, sending a rude comment someone's way is flaming them, which is indeed against the rules.

anyways...I just thought id put the idea out there that it isn't always a big deal when someone gets called Dumb.....

I agree that the mods arent peoples mommy's ....thats my whole point.....

Usually I think tho mods are Great here.....I think all the mods here are like SUPER HERO KINGS......

BEST MODS EVER......but it made me doubtful when i was told by a mod to stop being rude and the person i was supposedly rude to...Stuck up for me to the mod saying "It wasn't that bad"
