    Default Final Fantasy 3.5

I think this is pretty interesting.

That would've been cool. Although we probably still wouldn't have had a U.S. release.

That game was going to be FFIV. We did have a U.S. release for FFIV.

Which was for the Super NES. The article said it was being made for the Famicom. But yeah, who knows.

I believe Final Fantasy IV did start out as a NES game, but when the SNES was announced they just continued it there. I think it was basically the same though. *shrugs*

Man, a Cook, a Juggler and a Carpenter...and all these years I was thinking that there could be nothing more laziest as a class than Bard .
You think a minor thing like the end of the world was gonna do me in?

I hear there's actually a Juggler class in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Funny, the way things work out.

Yes, there is. It's a job Moogles can attain.

O_o;; I find all that somehow very scary. The sprites of the characters in battle look like I's, and those old men look eerily like the ones that end up what became IV.

Save Grandpas and buying airships...whacky ideas that didn't make it through. I can see a save equalivent of Stilzkin, but buying airships and encountering others on the world map? It would've made the sky almost a town in itself and dealing with collisions might've been too complex.

Mmm, Tactics Advance. *goes to play*

If you look at screenshots from the NES Final Fantasy II & III, you'll notice that they just recycled sprites from the first game. XD

The page explicitly says that the in-battle screenshot in the lower right is from FFIII, not the proto-FFIV.

Call me a skeptic, but what are the chances that the magazine article isn't fake? Why hasn't anyone found out about this / drawn attention to it before now?

    Spiffy.

But then again, there was supposed to be a Final Fantasy for the N64 before Square decided to pack their bags.
I prefer the term "Treasure Hunter".

I wouldn't be inclined to think it's a fake. Lots of games have early screenshots posted in magazines, even from the very start of their development.
