In linkshells, were does the clan name appear under players name or beside it. Also can you give ranks or titles to certain linkshell members, such as Elder or Adulte might be a couple choices to assign members if I were doing it.

There will be a pearl with a color indicating that ur in a LS besides ur name if u have one eqiuped. All they have to do ti check which one ur in and the name is to just examine you with a menu command.
The titles are:
Linkshell holder: Admin of the entire linkshell
Pearl Sack holders: Mods of LS
Pearl holders: Members of LS
Ew... I don't think I'm gonna be doing much "pearl" sack holding...
I used to have one... but it was erased... *sigh*
I see. I hope they add a way to add titles to certain pearl holders later in an update.

Its what a guild or clan is called in FF XI.
ahh and the FFXI "Lingo" was born......
Now nubs/newbs will be easily identified by the fact that they don't know what linkshell is.....
