I learned this somewhere a while ago but i've forgotten. Something like sadness makes your limit go up slower but increases your attack or vice versa. So can anyone tell me what they actually do?

Sadness - Decreases the damage incurred and causes the Limit gauge to fill up slower.

    (Cure with Hyper)

Fury - Doubles the damage incurred and causes the limit gauge to fill faster. Hit rate against enemies is decreased.

    (Cure with tranquilizer)

    That's from the manual

hehe, yeah... that manual, it's so well hidden. most people don't know about it.

You can also CAUSE the effect. If you use a Tranquilizer on a person that isn't neither Sadnees or Fury, it'll get Sadness. Same with Hyper, but they'll get the Fury thing instead.

It's best to put Fury on Aeris in junction with the Cover materia and long range. Then put a protect vest on her. You can get Great Gospel so quickly that way. I had it before I even got to the (SPOILER) Date Scene.

Exactly, they cancel out. That is what's so good about Fury.

Indeed. I had Aeris's, Cloud's, Yuffie's, and Red XIII's 4th limit before I finished the first disc. All thanks to Hypers, Cover Materia, Random black magic = All, and 2x cut.

can you cast sadness or fury to an enemy?

No. It would be kinda pointless if you could, since enemies don't have limit breaks.

Although the increasing attack thing would work on them. Some enemies in the submarine base and the bit....after you snowboard have monsters that cast sadness on themselves

Do you mean Fury? Sadness decreases you attack power.
