Thread: You Knew I'd Ask.

    Default You Knew I'd Ask.

Damn it, I need some advice on how to beat these two weapon monsters. I have no idea how. I must have summoned Knights about 10 times on Emarald, and the tyrant still won't die.
So I'm going to list what I have, and please let me know if it's good enough, or if I need something else.

I'm using Cloud, Tifa and Cid, all on level 99.

-I've got KoTR, on three stars.
    -Quadra Magic, mastered.
    -W-Summon
-Final Attack and Phoenix, both mastered and linked.
-Two Mimes and a Master Command.
    -Master Magic.
    -Mega All.
    -Bahamut ZERO, mastered.
    -Several Counter Attacks, mastered.
    -Underwater.

-Everyone's final weapons as well as Limit breaks.
-Two Mystiles and three Ziedrichs, which seem to work pretty good.
-Two pairs of Sprint Shoes and one Tetra Elemental.
    -Two Champion belts.
-99 Megalixirs, Elixirs and Turbo Ethers. 10 Hero Drinks, and several source items, not yet used.

This is mostly what I'm working with, although I haven't really tried Ruby Weapon yet, mostly I'm busy with Emarald.

    Any strategies, advice, anything?
    Thanks.

Well if you can't beat Emerald Weapon with all that stuff I don't know what else you can do.

I beat Emerald weapon with the following.

KOTR level 2 linked with MPTurbo
    Mime
    Zero Bahamut linked with Quadra.

That did the major damage then I just kept at it with Ultima, limit breaks and a few more summons like Neo Bahamut, Bahamut and Hades.

Was around level 50. But had full HP by using HP+ materia.

The less materia you useon Emerald Weapon the better. It's Aire Storm(spelling?) attack is based on the amount of materia you have equipped. It does around 1,000 damage per materia equipped on the character to the character I believe.

I can usually avoid Air Tam Storm by killing his shoulder bits before he does it. I deal a hell of a lot of damage to him too, including chucking coins at him and miming it when I run out of Knights and stuff. And he still ain't croakin'.

Final Attack linked to Phoenix is key, as it lets you revive after you get wiped out.

Yeah, I know. I've got a mastered Phoenix as well as Final Attack on Cloud, plus a three star Phoenix and three star Final on Tifa. So I get revived about eight times.
I think I'll just build up my Knights 'till they get mastered, then I can summon the bugers more often.

I made everyone copy KOTR and Phoenix-Final Attack was a must. But all my materia was al max level and I had like 3 copies of everything maxed out before I even looked at Emerald... I was only at level 72 and I beat him on the second try ... and I didn't have HP+ but I did have MP+ for all three characters
    Too big.

I usually use Ruby to level up my materia enough to be able to defeat Emerald, however your levels are more than sufficient.
The only difference between your materia and mine was I had a whole bunch of Magic Plusses which really boosted KoTR's attack power.

Where do you get Magic Plus materia?
I noticed Ruby seems to be a lot easier, but I still can't beat him. Does anyone know how much HP these two savages have?

I think Emerald Weapon has 500,000 Hit Points and Ruby has 1,000,000.

If you remember the bit where (SPOILER)Aeris dies at the Ancient Capital, towards the right part is the path where you reach the snowy lands of FF7. Around there there's this big ladder, go down the ladder and it's there, though I equipped it at every possible point to give it enough AP so I have 2 or 3 by the time I'm on Emerald/Ruby.

I'd definately recommend mastering KOTR. In fact, since KOTR is the hardest to master, you should be able to get Master Summon materia. Emerald can take 20 hits from KOTR before dying.

My strategy with Emerald is to have one character with Master summon and W-Summon cast KOTR and the other two character use Mime to cast it as well.

My startegy with Ruby is to use KOTR and E-skill on the character left over after Ruby draws two away in the whirlpools.

    A few ideas:

    MP Turbo - KotR
    W-Summon
Mime - Counter (nice touch, I find) x3
    Magic Plus

MP Turbo buffs up your KotR so that it does max damage. W-Summon let's you summon it twice. Mime-Counter let's you hit back with a double summon of KotR and Magic Plus buffs your KotR a bit further.

All that should let you kill 'em. I took out EW at level 70 or so, with KotR at lvl 2

MP Turbo is definetely the thing to pair with KOTR. It makes the summon use 5 more magic points and increases the damage by about 3,000 per hit.

Counter-Mime? That's the two materia linked together, right?
