Actually, it's been announced that the movie will be at least 80 minutes long. It's probably in this thread somewhere, but I can't be bothered looking

Masamune1287, how many times do you need to be told to stop spamming?

80 minutes just doesn't seem like enough time to develop a decent plot. I don't think it will live up to the game, but it'll still be good.

Many movies are barely an hour and a half long, but I agree that Advent Children's (uncomfirmed) 80 minutes may seem fleeting compared to the game. Ah well, it's not like they can make a twenty-hour movie and expect it to sell.

But how much of the game was story, and how much was gameplay (sidequests, battles, exploring, and reading all that stuff)? 80 minutes seems plenty, and they dont have to start from scratch and establish new characters like most movies. It's a sequel, so it doesnt need as much backstory. The game already established that.

Speaking of which, has anything about the plot been released yet? I haven't read about 9 of these pages, so I'm not aware.

One of the first fansites said the Japanese word for 'star' and 'planet' is the same... any truth to this?

If so, surely it'd make more sense as "Planet Scar Syndrome", given that The Planet (this was its official name I believe?) was scarred on the North Pole by Jenova some 5000-years-or-whatever-time ago and the planet and/or Jenova are involved with the disease.

Apart from that it'd also support my theory that the 'mystery man' is the supposedly indestructable Jenova (who, according to the archives at the snowy town near the crater, first appeared as a male), and has inflicted the disease. Following from this, the other people who look similar to the guy would be 'clones', and the story would be about finding a way to permenantly defeat Jenova... I guess similar in a way to FFX/Sin.

I don't know if there's any truth to that, Cloudane, but it really sounds good.

Cloudane,it does make alot of sense.I'll have to try and find out if those two words are the same...And,i mean, who knows what was in the creater sephiroths body was sealed in.Weapon came out of it,and when the barrier broke, who knows what else could have seeped into the ground.

Well Weapon was also made by the planet in case something drastic (i.e. Summoning of Meteor) were to happen to the planet.
