Heh. By the time this movie comes out, we'll already have analyses and considered every possible plot twist, so there'll be hardly any surprises anyway. *Sigh*

See, I think that it would be great to kill of a character for no reason what-so-ever. Like there's a group with Cloud in it, and Clouds leading the group through a town/city and he turns around to talk to the group when he walks out into the street and gets blindsided by a bus and it turned into a pancake.

Of course I'd like to see it just to see how many people start crying and whining in the movie theater. I can't believe how attached people get to characters in a video game. But that's just me.

It might get shown privately in a Japanese theatre or two, but it sure as heck won't get a mainstream cinematic release in the rest of the world. They couldn't earn much of a profit by showing movies that only a handful of people in each city would want to see.

My friend told me that she read the Japanese and American versions of the movie are going to be released close together, so hopefully it's true and we dont' have to wait 6 months after the Jap version is out

It's a straight-to-DVD release, and there's been no official word whether or not it's going to come to America at all. Of course it will, though, because by golly, America loves Cloud.

It would be too much to try to squeeze the Weapons into the story, and there's really no reason to do so, since every last one of them was clearly annihilated in FFVII.

Actually, it's been announced that the movie will be at least 80 minutes long. It's probably in this thread somewhere, but I can't be bothered looking

The longer the better IMO. They have *a lot* of questions to answer in that story, a lot of good characters to re-introduce and a lot of ground to cover 60 mins seems amazingly, catastrophically too short.
