Default Revival of an old plan...

Remember this summer when we had that discussion in staff about setting up an EoFF Cafepress store, but it fell through because Cafepress turned into a bunch of greedy bastards from hell? (Sidenote: I made, bought, and deleted my own EoFF T. Just "Eyes On Final Fantasy" in Annifont on the breast, but still unique as of now)

    I found an alternative.

Well, one of my former classmates found an alternative.

    http://www.zazzle.com/

Apparently, it's more customizable than Cafepress was, and cheaper to boot. It's only apparel, so you can't do cool stuff like the coffee mug, but you *can* make shirts in any color, not just white like Cafepress could. You can specify any 24-bit color (Specify a number from 0-255 for red, another for green, and another for blue, just like making color hex codes for web pages or defining a color in Photoshop). I haven't looked at it in detail myself, but so far it's looking pretty good.

Nice, with all of those colors we could have Ed's Technicolor Nightmare walking the streets. Sounds interesting.

Oh man I would love to make things like this part of my wardrobe. As long as they come in extra small, that is. I'll get pink and red and black and yellow oh my! *is tacky*

Well, EoFF T-shirts is an idea that had been bandied about for two freaking years and of course, as soon as we were ready to actually implement the bloody things, Cafepress pulled the rug out from under us. Bastards.

The thing I'm noticing about Zazzle is the disclaimer at the bottom of the page where they list the shirts--Apparently, the way they bind the images to the shirt, colors stack--so if you have a yellow shirt, and you put a blue image on it, you come up with green, which sucks. So if you put white text on a black shirt, the text will look gray. I'm not sure how bad the binding is, but I'd be tempted to only offer white shirts, at least initially.

I still wouldn't buy it if it wasn't black. Maybe I'll get one custom made sometime, they have to do them somewhere. Just haven't found a place that does them in black yet...

    EDIT: http://www.funnytshirtstore.com/createsaying.html

Not a shop, mind you. =/

I was just thinking about this as well. I wanted to get the Sephy banner imprinted onto a shirt.

I think that the shirts from Zazzle would be very good quality and their method of imprinting excellent because the colours would actually go right into the fabric. The prices and shirt style choices are really good too because you don't have to stick to just a plain T. I like those Henley's, but they don't have a price for them.

The store that you linked to, BoB, has iron on decals. Those do not look very good after a few washings because the decal is actually a big square or rectangle shape of plasticy stuff and it eventually turns yellowy and really doesn't look good on a white or light coloured shirt. I have one of those and it really tends to look tacky after a bit of wear.

    I'd consider getting one.

Well, as the disclaimer says, darker colors are less susceptible to the color combination problem, too; EoFF has generally been blue/cyan on DARK blue (and some black), so it would probably be pretty easy to create a good black EoFF T or sweatshirt.

Its called Tidedye(or however you spell the frickin word)

Maybe it is just me but I wouldn't be caught dead wearing a shirt or anything like that. I don't buy normal clothes just because they put the name of the company who made the shirt on the shirt. Unless what ever design you put on the shirt is so unbelievable cool...it just wouldn't be happenin' for me.

How many people would realistically buy these shirts anyways?
