I've always beat when I get him. Just have your strongest magical person draw/cast demi on him. have the same person keep doing the same until about 200 is all that's done....usualy Selpie or Zell should do this...Limit Breaks are good when aviable...escpecially Squall(who should have highest strength) Full-cure and wall from selphie do a lot. And a boosted summon never hurts. I rarely get hit with Gravija or demi by this guy. Be merciless but safe....that's my stratagy..and it's never failed me.

A usuful thing to know is if you draw Diablos' Demi and stock it. When you use Demi on him he'll cast cure3 on that character. Which is nice of him.

Note it only works if you cast Demi from your own stock of magic. It won't work if you cast his own magic on him

Also, if you cast 'blind' on him, he'll be pretty poor at actually hitting your party with anything other than 'demi' spells.

If you fight Diablos at a high level, he'll be carrying handy magic like Holy. Good for stocking strong spells if you levelled up early in the game.

I waited to beat him until I had gotten the GF Pandemona. Since Diablos is weak against wind and that GF is a wind elemental, he went down pretty quick. If you don't want to wait though, I'd try to stock up on some wind spells if possible. Those should help.

Don't level up! Leveling up only increases your HP slightly, but it will make all your enemies tougher. Other than getting better magicks and items (which you can also get through cards and Tonberry's Level Up), there is no reason at all for you to level up in this game.

The fight will get no easier the longer you leave it as he'll level up as you do.

Just set one person aside to cure characters and have the other two drawing demi out of Diablos. Once you have a few of the spells stocked up just start casting them. Each Demi will take of a 1/4 of his HP. When they start causing 200 damage just finish him off with GFs or normal attacks.

Again, I can assure you that if you cast Blind on him, he'll be practically helpless. Demi spells are never fatal, and his physical attacks will almost always miss, so there'll be plenty of time to heal, just in case.
Once your entire party has been reduced - by Demi or Gravija - down to one third or less HP, you'll be able to use Limit Breaks on practically every turn.

I always beat him with Laguna, Kiros, and Ward. That's just how I've always done it and I've never failed.

Just draw demi with each of your characters, then cast them their next turn. Diablos will lose health and you will be fully restored.
