Thumbs up The *positive* FFX thread

I don't know if it's just me getting this feeling, but there seems to be so many negative things that people on this forum are always picking out about the game and I just think that the game deserves some support!

So, this thread is to post some things that you especially liked about FFX, that made it an enjoyable game for you, differences or new additions that you liked...and nothing negative about voices or no world maps!

For me, I loved the battle system and I think it allowed you more time to think and plan which made for more interesting battles.
I also thought it was great being able to switch characters in and out of battle it meant you could use any one's abilities when you needed them for a certain situation. It also gave everyone a chance to gain some AP, and gave you good use of *all* of the characters.

I liked the fact that enemies had weaknesses and you could choose which character to use depending on the enemy. For example if something was a certain element, such as lighting or fire you could bring in Lulu to cast the opposite.

If the enemy was flying you could get Wakka in, if it had a shell you could use Auron or if it was an agile creature you could use Tidus.

I also loved the sphere grid system, it made me want to fight random battles and get more sphere levels because it was fun to spend them and see what attributes I got up, especially fun getting HP spheres activated.

Plus the graphics were beautiful through the whole game, and personally I really liked all of the characters in the game.

I think there was a *lot* that made this game great fun, it may have been different from other Final Fantasy's but it was a brilliant game, and I'd just like to know that there is some more people out there who love the game as much as I do.

    So cmon, support FFX guys.....

Once you actually get into a fight the game is good, the battle system is very good compared to previous systems.

Before and after you get into a battle however...

I say what I think. If you disagree, then that is up to you.

Thank u! Finally! Okay, where 2 start? Well, it's my favourite title out the series simply because it has a brilliant story with such a sad ending and its graphics help that along by showing the emotions the character is going thru, along with the voices making it a more realistic experience. The battle system was great and much more fast paced and I loved how when the characters entered they all said a line of speech. The love story was also very good and emotional- {spoiler}especially when Tidus finds out that Yuna is to die And (per usual) Nobou gave us a beautiful score (especially the ending song/s)and there's so much to do- I didn't finish until well after the 100hrs mark. Moral of my post? - I need X-2!... *nows cries at not having it* aaaaargh! Support X!

*gives all the fans a little tidus doll* So there *are* fans here I was beginning to wonder :rolleyes2

I agree, Leia the ending rocks it is so sad I was trying to stop from crying, cos my mum was in the room, lol. ^^

And your right the graphics convey the characters emotions so much, just the facial expressions and that, I know people say graphics don't matter but you just won't see those kinda expressions in the older FF's. (except the FMVs).
They may not be the most important thing but they sure are *beautiful*

I loved how the characters spoke in battle too, it made the battles more fun wondering what they would say next. I don't think I've ever enjoyed battles as much as in X.

I thought the Tidus and Yuna bit was just sooo sweet too, it was just wow, (SPOILER)the kiss and especially (SPOILER)the end with his arms around her

I loved the music too, Suteki da ne was a beautiful song and hearing through the credits at the end just made me wanna cry more.

I can't wait for FFX-2 also, especially if Yuna and Tidus get back together! (I don't know a lot about the story of it).

By the way your spoiler sort of showed up, try putting [ spoiler ] spoiler here [/ spoiler ] without the spaces

    Yes ...support X!

Argh!!! That must have been soo bad for you!

My whole family was in the room at the bit when (SPOILER)seymour proposes and my brother laughed, dad snorted in disgust and mum shuffled her newspaper. Come on, family! I just wanted to get a juicy bit of story done! They all did the same at the (SPOILER)wedding. Luckily, I played the ending at my friends house (*relief* :o). I cried.

Having people in the room at good story bits is bad.

But the story was all good!! So were the graphics, music, battle system, costumes...

Speaking as a person who really didn't care for Ten, there were some things I have to give the game credit for. The sphere system wasn't terrific, but it was original, and it's fun to see some new ideas like that.
The characters, while not as good as some in earlier titles, were a big step up from the two previous games. Tidus and Yuna weren't the greatest heros (They weren't "bad," just nothing really special about them), but the supporting characters were really cool for the most part. Auron was my personal favorite.
Also, the story wasn't perfect, and it wasn't anything special or exciting, but it wasn't really bad, either. It wasn't complex or deep, and it was pretty predictable... but I'd rather see them succeding in a simple story, than failing in trying to make one "deep." *cough*Eight*cough*

THINK HAPPY THOUGHTS KENSHIN! i have played the other ff's as i'm sure we all have and i just don't know.

I loved this game enough to play through it a few times before x-2 comes out. and to avoid the risk of X bashing i will not ask what made all those other character's "special' and tidus and Yuna not. It was all good.

I loved all the things that you guys said, but i also wanted to point this out: a similarity between FFX and 1984. ummm.... i don't know how to do spoiler blockers, so i'll leave it at that.
    Nothing is what it seems...

    Everything is a test...

Well, you basically just did ask, and I don't mind answering so here you go:

Tidus- Could get pretty annoying. I do admit that some of it had to do with his voice, which I liked at first, but just got on my nerves by the end of the game.

Yuna- Likable on her own right, but when you compare her with characters like Aeris or Terra.... well, she just doesn't. She's also a bit plain, your basic heroine.

The other characters worked pretty well for their roles, even in comparison to other games. They weren't grand, but they worked. Lulu was pretty cool. Her character was interesting, but I also liked her design. Auron is just the definition of cool. He also has the most interesting story out of all the characters. I didn't really care for Wakka, but I didn't not like him, either. I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that I thought I would despise him much the same way I despised Zell or Irvine, and he wasn't nearly as bad as them. Kimari looked pretty cool, but didn't really do anything except tag along. That's okay though, because he really wasn't that major of a character. Rikku... well I didn't really care for Rikku, but she gets points for being better than Selphie.

Like I said, they weren't an exceptional cast by any means, but they beat characters like Zell, Selphie, Irvine, Amarant and Quina.

    Positive stuff only, eh?

Um... the graphics rocked! Oh, and the game had swords in it! Plus, it had a good combat system. Oh and customising weapons/armour and powering up celestial weapons were good features too, if the minigames to get them were slighty.... annoying. (Sorry, it needed to be said) Um... it had some funny lines in it! So yeah, that's the best bits of FFX.

what i thought was good, besides what everyone has said, (strangely enough) was that i cried like a big baby at the end, and also when they were in Al Bhed Home (my spoiler marks never work so ill leave it at that).. i havent cried for a game since 7 i got so attached to this game, despite the fact that i hated the chocobos in this one lol.

sorry, 8 and 9 didnt have the same feelings of attatchment for me.. :rolleyes2

I agree on that completely! As much as I really liked 8 and thought that 9 was alright, (but with a good ending!) for me after completing X it was just so emotionally attached and the ending was just so sad (I cried too!) that I found that the others didn't compare for me! It was a new love! *laughs hysterically* Now I just need X-2...

Hee, Final Fantasy X is my most favourite, followed by Final Fantasy VIII.

First things first, the battle system! I love it. I think it's the best so far. It's easy, and you can change characters (if you have them) within the battle to combat different opponents.

Second would have to be the Sphere Grid. Much better way of leveling up your characters. And it's fun, too, to get all the spheres and move them around the board and see which things they can learn and such.

Love the graphics, but of course I didn't have FFVIII on PSOne, so I can't really judge it that much ^^ But the whole speaking things were cool. They even spoke during battle as well. That's cute ^^

I haven't finished FFX (kinda started a week or so ago) but the story seems something really cool. I don't know why people or so against it. The character interactions are awesome, trying to figure out how they're all connected, and they all have their pasts and things...I'm excited to see the ending, you people talk about it a lot.

The music I found the same likes as in FFVIII. The theme songs are just so beautiful.
