*Sulk* Well, it exists in swedish...

Enoki: Like you said, duh. But 'Midgar Zolom' is the ugliest mistranslation of a singe word ever, wouldn't you agree? It was horrid enough to throw me off course, anyway.
However, I'm a little grumpy that Square left Tor/Thor out of it (Tor is the 'modern' form; without runes). A dude running around with a hammer smiting giants all over the place, always hits, etc. He's enough to teach FF7's Odin a thing or two.

zacks_clone: I'm looking through the site now. I have a feeling I'll be there for a while...

I recently started playing FFVII again and after the Midgar Zolom piece u get this pretty view of a 'midgar zolom' artfully placed on a large wooden stick by your dear friend sephiroth. But i was thinking, isn't there only 1 midgar zolom ? i mean. it wouldnt be so special if there were more mayb stupid of me but hé. it slipped my mind

No. The worst mistranslation ever is "Knowlespole," which is a mangling of "North Pole." Yes, that's right: the English translators could not properly translate these English words into English.

Tetsuya: If you ever have to fight it you'll notice that
whenever you kill one another appears.

Silent Warrior: They really should put Thor in as a summon, but, the reason I think they didn't is that they already have their lightening summon and that's Ramuh.
I do think however that they should put Zodiac Signs in as summons I mean Choco/mog got a summon.

1.I think its great how they use mythology in their games. I find it makes them so much more interesting.

2.Shiva technically isn't a god btw its the six armed goddess sheeva (yeh its only spellings but wtf!)

3.the worst mistranslation ever is none of those. I was crippled with laughter when i heard 'all your base are belong to us'.

    greatness.......*slap*

    4. Seto sounds dodgily like some kind of mythological warrior of some description, could one of you guys check that up for me? pweeeeeeeeez!

...This is where I request that you PLEASE use something resembling decent English grammar and spelling. I'd understand if you two were non-native speakers [as it were] of the language, but if you two are native speakers, there is no excuse, other than a degree of laziness I, as a long-term lurker here at EoFF, find appalling, to not make yourselves look like intelligent young people with opinions worth reading.

[EDIT: Siva the Destroyer is indeed a god, and the Hindi deity Shiva is based on.]

You can hardly talk, I may point out that "...here at EoFF, find appalling, to not make..." makes no sense whatsoever. Wether you meant "...here at EoFF, find IT apalling, to not make..." we can only assume.

of laziness I, as a long-term lurker here at EoFF, find appalling, to not ...
The use of comma implies 'I (as a long-term blablabla) find appalling'. IT checks out by my standards. But that's a bit of a stray. (Though I've seen worse, I would also like to see a more proper english, like, EVERYWHERE. :evilking: )

one_winged_angel: ... Ok, yes, that's also a completely disgusting translation. What, does mistranslations for mere words count now?
I can tell you right away that Seto doesn't exist in norse mythology. *brief search* Nope, can't find Seto without more effort.

aww thats not fair.. He would have been a great god/warrior to rip off...

And as for the grammar, you can't use an adjective without some kind of noun to be describing, and in that sentence he has none. So Nya!

Amazing. What I was calling appalling was the degree of laziness it takes to spend a few minutes making oneself look intelligent. I mean, come on. This isn't a UT deathmatch session where a little time costs you frags.

I KNOW what you were trying to say, I was just trying to tell you to make yourself correct before you tell others to be.
