    Default FFXII video and information

    http://www2u.biglobe.ne.jp/~nanko/movies/ff12-2.wmv

Thats the video above. I don't know how big it is in file size but damn...the graphic's engine to this game is greatly improved.

Now for the information regarding the game itself.

Square Enix has confirmed new details about Final Fantasy XII's stars, the young male Vaan, and the young female Ashe. Vaan, a resistance fighter, is a thief from the Dalmaska Kingdom who dreams of soaring the skies as a sky pirate. Meanwhile Ashe, the heir to the kingdom of Dalmaska's throne, is the only daughter of the king. Her kingdom has been invaded by the Valentia Empire, and she joined a liberation army in order to pursue the enemy leader and defeat the conquerers. A run-in between the two will develop into a relationship critical to a global conflict.

Furthermore, the Arcadia Empire and the Rozaria Imperium from the rear continent Ordalia have waged war in the Valentia continent for many years. Eventually, Arcadia went on to attack Ashe's Dalmaska Kingdom, located between the Valentia and Ordalia continents.

The game's world should be familiar to fans of Final Fantasy Tactics, as Final Fantasy XII takes place in Ivalice. For years the two kingdoms of Arcadia and Rosaria have been fighting against each other in a bitter struggle. Located in a strategically important corridor between the two powers is the small kingdom of Dalmaska. Arcadia's invasion of the kingdom prompts its princess Ashe to join forces with the resistance. As previously reported the game's two main characters will be Vaan and Ashe. The former is an optimistic and bright young man yielding from the ancient kingdom of Dalmaska, which has fallen under the control of the Empire. Due to the unsatisfactory conditions there, he has cut his ties with relatives there, seeking his very own personal freedom. As an adventurer, he dreams of being able to command an airship someday. Ashe is the sole daughter of the king of Dalmaska and hence the legitimate heiress to the throne. Following the invasion of her country, she becomes the leader of the resistance against the Empire. During a wild pursuit, she loses one companion after the other. Despite her desperate situation, she still hasn't lost the pride of a princess. In this situation she meets Vaan, and before long loses her heart to him. Thus their joint adventure begins.

In addition, in the most recent issue of Weekly Famitsu, Hideo Minaba and Akihiko Yoshida, Final Fantasy XII's art director and character designer respectively spoke about their new project. The game's main colors will be orange and blue. Because of Damascal's high temperatures, the characters' exposure will be pretty high. Regarding the logo, it was revealed that it illustrates the ruling power of Ivalice and was drawn with a judge in mind. The previously mentioned connection point to Final Fantasy Tactics Advance are the various races such as the Bangaa, seen in the first screenshots. Ashe received her sword from a yet-to-be-unveiled youth. The thing Vaan is carrying in his hand is apparently called a staff root, even though the duo did not offer any explanation of that term. Chocobos will still serve as a means of transportation, but Minaba and Yoshida declined to comment on another trademark of the series, summons as well as the battle system.

Final Fantasy XII is currently about 70% complete and has a Japanese release date of summer 2004.

Considering that the game's release is still several months away, it was not so surprising, that few details were released regarding the game's battle system. The map will be in 3D and players will be able to freely change the camera perspective. Furthermore, Matsuno reiterated earlier comments by emphasizing, the current game will be a major step forward in comparison to the image of previous installments.

At yesterday's presentation of Square Enix's Final Fantasy XII for PlayStation 2, it was confirmed that Hitoshi Sakimoto will cooperate with Nobuo Uematsu composing the game's soundtrack. Sakimoto previously worked with producer Yasumi Matsuno on Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Vagrant Story.

Thats all for now. I remember back when only the director and artist was announced for this game as well as a few others and I was already saying this game would be awesome as hell...looks like I was right damn it. Finally a FF that looks to be truely epic.

Wow, this game looks damn promising, and it looks like some of the combat might actually be "free" according to one part of the video. On another note, this game reminds me of both "Star Wars" and "El Cid" at the same time...freakay.

I noticed those videos also but didn't post them because they didn't really show as much as the second one(which I posted as well as you). That and they are not really close enough, people in the way too much and stupid crap like that.

Ok uhh maybe I'm a little late but I just watched the vid and I'm a bit scared. Did anyone else see that part where they were running around in a non-battle mode slashing enemies? Weird...oh well, maybe its just like the motorcycle escaping Midga part from FFVII, which I'll be just fine with.

Ohh, and does anyone know if theres gonna be summoning in this one? I sure hope so.

The game looks pretty promising though and the graphics are astounding...they look like they may beat that of FFX, which will just be breathtaking.
    I like Kung-Fu.

That Jenova looking thing towards the end appears to be a summon but who knows. Anything is possible at this point.
    **insert catchy sig**
