I'd like to know if it's possible to get my modem to dial a phone number and I can basically call somebody and hear them through the speakers and speak to them through my microphone. Can somebody show me how I can do this?

The latest version of MSN has that feature, I believe.
It's called 'Make a phone call'. I've never tried it, though.
"As the days go by, we face the increasing inevitability that we are alone in a godless,
uninhabited, hostile and meaningless universe. Still, you've got to laugh, haven't you?"
The technology's called Voice Over IP (VoIP), and it's been around for a while now...it's the same as is used for AIM voice chats and the like.
Try googling VoIP, and you'll probably find some specialized software for it.
No I'm saying ya know, use my computer like a telephone. Thats what I'm talking about here. I want my modem to dial my friends phone number and he answers his telephone and we basically talk back an forth as if my computer were a telephone. I know it's possible but I gotta know how.
I've done it in Win95 a few years ago when I actually had a modem, but I can't remember anymore![]()
There is an option under Win95, ive used it too, but why would you want to use your modem to phone someone.
I wanna make a CD where I prank call people. And also I don't have a telephone in my bedroom but I have my computer.
