Yes, it was a Disney movie, but one of its less popular ones. It didn't sit well with the younger age group, and that dropped its ratings.
I love the Black Cauldron. It's one of my favorite Disney movies. It was also a pretty slick computer game, well back in the 80's at least.
I can't believe some people don't know the movie. You should be ashamed of yourselves. ;p
Like I said, it was one of the less popular ones.
It was also a wonderful series of books written by Lloyd Alexander, who I actually met at a book signing, and wrote to when I was about 6. You can probably buy them at your local borders, and probably for a lot cheaper than the lord of the rings series.
