Default What is the best FF FMV?

The best FF FMV has got to be the one in FFVIII when Squall jumps towards the already-moving SeeD boat and the mechanical-spider-thing gets the hell blasted out of it by Quistis. Of course, the bit in FFX where Tidus grinds down a metal chain to the church is great.

To narrow the FMV's down to a definite best out of all the FF's is an impossibilty for me, so I'll try to pick out the best for each individual FF intead.

FFVII- Plenty of great ones here. There's Aeris's Death, Sephiroth's "In the Flames" scene, the "Emerging of the WEAPONS", That one WEAPON getting his head blown apart.... I gotta go with the FMV when the WEAPONS first came from Earth. The sense of actual fear I got from that was just classic.

FFVIII- You can say whatever you want about this ff, but it is undeniable that some of the best FMV's in video game history came from FFVIII. The elegance of the Ball Room scene, the real choreography of the parade scene, the sense of calamity when Galbadia attacks Balamb, all unforgettable. But the best would have to be that Intro scene. Oh...My... GOD!!!

FFIX- Don't remember many FMV's from this one. The scenes where the Eidolons were being summoned (namely Atmos) were awesome. But the ending scene get's the award here. I remember my little sister crying when she saw it!

FFX- The FMV's from this ff escape me a bit as well... For now, I'll just say the long first scene where Sin attacked Tidus's original world....

Quite simply, I think the best FMV from each FF is the ending.

My favourite FMV ever, is from my least favourite FF, hehe, but that is the Squall and Rinoa ballroom dance. I've just always thought that was a wonderful FMV, the music, the expressions, the funny way that Squall tries to walk off, and the way Rinoa glares at the other couple ^_^

My second favourite has to be (SPOILER) Yuna and Tidus' kiss in FFX. It's so romantic and the music and the bit where they go underwater...awww .

I love a lot of the FMV's in IX too, but the two I mentioned are what I would say are the best ones and the ones that Square have done the best.

I haven't played FFIX in a long time so I may fail to describe this properly... But it's the one where (SPOILER)they're all jumping out of the ariship into the place with the genomes and it zooms in on Zidane's eye. I really liked the FMVs in that game.

That FFX FMV where they're going down the chain to Bevelle...Spira must have a pretty wonkitated gravitational field.

Anyway, I'd give it to FFVIII's intro FMV. Or Cloud in the Motorbike scene. Or FFX's intro. Or FFX's kissing in the spring.

FF8 had the best overall for me, even though it wasn't my favourite FF game, they seemed to have put a lot more effort into them than in 7/9, and possibly also more than some scenes from 10, with the exception of the mid-game one with the vocal track in the background. *avoids using spoiler tags*

    Best Intro FMV: FFVIII...hands down.

Best mid-game FMV: The one where they were sliding out of the airship from FFX...pure sweetness. Or just about all of the rest of the FFX FMVs.

Best Ending FMV: FFX...I'm a guy, and I was 17 at the time, and I sat there crying my ass off...plus it was just such a beautiful, touching piece of work by itself.

Well, we all know FFVIII has the best opening. FFIX has the best seen with Summons in it, mainly Alexander beating Bahamut's ass. I mainly like FFVIII and IX's cinema's, FFVII didn't have many, and there were lame, and FFX's while nice to look I hate the game.
    OH YEAH!!!

Oi! Magai! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH FFX! it has great characters and a good storyline. But FFX-2 looks better (especially Rikku. YUM!)

Hmm... I have to admit, as overall craptastic as VIII was, it did have some beautiful FMVs. I never really thought of it before this thread, but they did put a lot of work into their FMVs, they werent just cut scenes, they had their own brilliance to them.

My favorites... hmm.. I love the parade scene of VIII, because the costumes, movement, and accompanying music were wonderful. The end scene of X, I bawled like a baby, and finally the general melee of the Anthologies version of VI. I wish they would have used a different style because a lot of the characters just looked... weird (I love Amano, but his stuff doesnt work for me in 3d), but Terra looking up in the snow is just gorgeous.

It was NOT craptastic *as amusing as that word is* it was just a tad too advanced in graphic idea to have the backwards PS1 complete the vision, THE VISION, which was probably trying to achieve a FFX level, which was still craptastic looking xD

and I agree with all your scenes.
    Too big.
