    Default FFIX: The first MPRPG??????

Hey, i was looking through the options for FF IX, and there is an option called battle control or something like that. i set it to custom and pressed X, and found out that you can set some characters to the second controller. that means that FF:CC isn't Square's first Multiplayer single console Final Fantasy!!!! now if i could only find some people who want to whoop necron's butt with me.....My family isn't really much on games, i could swear i was adopted.......

Yeah , that's old news. But that feature only works in battles, of course.

I think FF6 had the same option.

Usually the four character's the two players are using end up beating each other to death.

Secret of Mana was one of the first multi-player games that Square came out with (it had three players).

I think FF4 and FF5 also had multiple controls. Did Secret of Mana come before or after them?

Well, it was limited to two players since you can only plug two controllers into an SNES.

The MultiTap accessory allowed for games for up to five players, actually, which was why Super Bomberman 2 was so fun.

Yepper, my friends and I rented a multi-tap a few times so that three people could play Secret of Mana.

Potentially fun activity for two players:
Have a high-level FFIX party, then fight a weak monster. Blind it, silence it, put it to sleep, whatever - just put it out of action for a while. Then you've got four fighters - two teams of two - who can turn on each other. For example, Vivi and Steiner versus Zidane and Garnet.
