I'm workin' my way trough the Temple of the Ancient right now. And you know, there was something that surprised me pretty much. This temple, containing many amazing artifacts, also of course has an amazing weapon for Cloud. So, what did the ingenious Ancients think was a good weapon?

    Nail Bat.

Yes! It's not just a bat, it's a bat with a nail in it! Wow!

Hell, that sort of weapon belongs in Earthbound if ya ask me.

rusty nails with tetanus would scare me so maybe thats what the ancients were thinking. or just to see cloud swinging a cheap looking wooden bat with bent rusty nails sticking out of it after winning a battle was funny to them too. i know i cracked up.

Every character in FFVII has a joke weapon, and the Temple of the Ancients is where most of them are found, including Bullet's Rocket Punch, Tifa's Work Glove, Cait Sith's Trumpet Shell, and Vincent's Silver Rifle. Good times.

Doesn't Vincent also have a water gun somewhere?

That's the Silver Rifle. It's neither silver nor a rifle.

and Cid gets a Mop, and Red XIII gets a Hairpin and Aeris gets a Parasol and.... well, Yuffie's Pinwheel looks like a joke, but it has materia slots, whereas all the other ones named, to my knowledge, do NOT have materia slots.

Damn those Ancients knew their stuff. They must've had a team of crack scientists working round the clock. They created great things such as the Black Materia and a strange machine that drops boulders with cavities for Cloud to hide under, a weird clock that takes people to random places that aren't geographically possible (most likely because they bent space.)

Then there was the Nail Bat.

Cid's Trident is in the Temple, but not the Mop. You can buy it in Junon during Disc 2 in addition to digging it up at Bone Village.

The mop and nail bat were two of the best weapons I had for a while. I remember wondering why they were better than the Ultimate Big Shiney Wonder sword and such...

There are six events at Fort Condor in which you can defend the place from enemy troops during Disc 1. The reward for each event is unique, and the event that occurs depends on how much of the story has advanced. So, to play in all six, you'd have to check back often, which is difficult if only because Fort Condor's probably the last thing on your mind as you travel through Cosmo Canyon and Nibelheim and such.

The Super Ball is the reward for Battle 4. So, when should you go back to the fort to trigger that one? Ehh, I forget. Just check in after every major plot event if you want it that badly.
