I can't stand Aeris, but I have to say that Aeris' Theme is by far the best music I've heard in an FF game. Chocobo music is always fun, too.

i have a few favorites
FFX ending Scene, and yes it does bring a tear to they eye
FFX-2 "eternity of memory light and waves", absolutley love the piano
FFX-2 "Vegna Gun starting" another good piece
FFX-2 "1000 Words" would have to be my favourite lyrical piece
those are just my favorite favorites...i think all the soundtracks are amazing, and my congrats go out to the song writers and music designers at Square and what not

There's way too many memorable songs to mention.
All of the Final Fantasies has their stand-outs but the stand-out
for the entire series has to be The Main Theme from Final Fantasy VII.
The ending theme for VIII is actually the Epilogue for FFII (I think, maybeEnding theme to FFX and Celes' theme are really good.

of the ones i have heard, these are my faves
ff7: aeries theme, one winged angel, flowers blooming in the church, holding my thoughts in my heart, life stream, if you open your heart
ff8: eyes on me, lagunas battle music, the oath, and for some reason i really like that music squall and rinoa dance to
ff9: messenger of destruction, melodies of life, garnets theme,
ff x-2: 1000 words (fave lyrical song from any ff)
