you'll see tons of girls in ads sitting with their knees
together and their ankles spread apart. It triggers a
sexual urge (which obviously helps to sell products) but
the urge is such that it also triggers an urge to be violent.

No I think Rikku's leg positioning is intentional, and it wouldn't surprise me if that rape thing is actually true. If the two were conciously related by Square, or teen magazines I'd be fairly shocked though. I think it's more of "Hey that looks cute".

I'm not upset, I just think everyone overanalyzes every single thing about these games. I mean really, they positioned her legs so you would wanna rape her? Come on. I dont neccesarily doubt that it could be interpreted as such, but thinking that Square did it on purpose is just... weird. And freaking out over it is weirder.

That, coupled with (SPOILER)the death of Chappu and Wakka's constant references to Tidus reminding him of Chappu and the fact that (SPOILER)she believes she's going to lose Yuna, who is like a sister to her.. Plus, some people just cant handle living in a world of constant death with a smile.
