That's actually a nearly perfect explanation of things. Just a few objections:
  • The Enlightened Ones of 12,000 B.C. didn't use dreamstone for magic. Their source was a similar red rock that was actually fragments of Lavos, just like the Frozen Flame.
  • Balthazar was the one who studied Nu and left the note in Kajar, not Gaspar.
  • "The Aero-Dalton Imperial" is an AWESOME name.
  • Nu are creatures of nature, not creations of Gaspar, Balthazar, or anyone else.
  • Why did you bother to mention the Sunstone side-plot but not so many of the others?
  • You never really explained why Sarah + Lavos = Time Devourer, or why the big thing inhabits the Tesseract and does what it does.
  • Dwarves, not trolls.
Still the best comprehensive explanation of both games I've seen, though.

This is an equation people get mixed up. They messed this
up in the US translation. Since Chrono and gang caused a paradox, everything that was in the "old" future was hurled into the Tesseract, where all lost time continua objects go. Lavos was indeed killed in 1999 AD, and it was in fact THAT Lavos which summoned Chronopolis. But the Lavos which Schala was merged with was a Lavos Spawn. The Lavos Spawn ONLY exsited in the "old" future, and all of them were hurled into the Tesseract . This also explains why the "Lavos" you fight at the end
of Chrono Cross is tiny, in fact, just the right size of a Lavos Spawn in comparison to the characters.
