Well it's capped at 56k in-game but you'll have a slight advantage with downloading the patches. You also need to consider you computer specs as the connection isn't as important at all.

You Vid Card is most important, a high end GeForce2 is minimum(which is what i use, i am pretty sure anything below my crappy card is unacceptable).
Well you also need to take into consideration the amount of RAM and the CPU speed you have. Basically there the three things; video card, RAM and CPU speed.

Ok, then i will be fine, because i have 512 ddr ram GF 5 and 2,6 ghz

What's the graphics card? Is it over 64mb's? I mean you can play on 64mb's but it's best to go higher to get a better result.

once you get past the initial huge patch when you instal, you should be fine. its really more about your vid card, processor, and ram.
Geforce 5600 256mb ram.
