you dont actually jump into the trees, you go to all the blocked gates (making sure to trigger the small scenes), then go back to near the intersection and a cutscene will occur...

unless you mean the prior time... wellthere is a small path, betwen the middle and left obvious ones... its not THAT hard to see...just walk on an angle around there, you dont need to press O or anything
